Mexico is a lousy neighbor. Always was.
Mexico is ‘run’ by those Cartels. The Mexican government has no control over the Cartels and loses soldiers on a near daily basis. Since those cartels are causing in excess of 70,000 American deaths each and every year, that is grounds for WAR! Not war with Mexico, war with those cartels.
We need to send a couple or three ‘Puff The Magic Dragons’ to do a few ‘pylon turns’ over those cartel compounds! For those not familiar with Puff, AC-47, is capable, over an elliptical area about 52 yd (47.5 m) in diameter, placing a round every 2.4 yd (2.2 m) during a three-second burst. During one ‘close air support’ in Nam, Puff, for over four hours, fired 20,500 rounds into a VC hilltop position, killing an estimated 300 VC troops. I’m thinking, with just one or two such missions over those cartels, that the cartels may be interested in another line of work!
CS is just another Mexican political puppet under the Cartels thumb. It never changes & won’t until Mexico really cares about their citizenry. Mexico’s Gov’t is funded by the cartels and the countries police & even their military either can’t or won’t address any effort to a cartel demise. President Trump offered to help Mexico to rid them of the cartels – CS declined the offer. Wonder why?
Promote jobs for the people in Mexico so they don’t come over here to work.

They need to fix the water problem in Mexico so their citizens don’t get dysentery.
Mexico has always been corrupt and poor and this has been going on for years. There are about 5 or 6 extremely wealthy Mexican families that control the country and call the shots and in turn approximately 85% of the population is very poor and live a hand to mouth existence. The other 15% live middle class lives. There are many beautiful places in Mexico and this country could reap the benefits of tourism and become a world class tourist destination if they cleaned up the corruption, made safety a priority and cleaned up the infrastructure, pure and simple. This is one of the reasons many Mexicans come to the USA and Canada, to escape the poverty and desperation that will be their lives if they stay. Anybody who doubts this, I have a bridge to sell you, it’s a real money maker and it isn’t in Brooklyn New York but in northern California. Until this hapens, it’s be business as usual, sad!
When we conquered Mexico in 1848, we should’ve made them part of the USA instead of letting them have their own country which they still haven’t figured out how to run.
