I don’t have a Dog in this fight because I don’t and never have followed Basketball. Heck I cant even name half-hearted teams let alone 10 players in the NBA. But 1 thing is certain if the Mafia is involved you can pretty much bet they have the Elite Players in their pocket or on their payrolls. Getting a nighttime visit from very large men with loaded large guns is enough to make anyone crumble. Imagine several large men showing up telling you that if you love your children you’re going to play along or they’ll be gone. I lived in Northern NJ growing up in the 60s and 70s when the NYC Mafia Wars were ongoing. I still remember a few of those day time Hits where they’d Machine Gun down those who stood in their way. My little hometown had a vist to a Very Well Connected Family with Guns Blazing. The next morning their 2 children were never seen again as were their parents. I guess the FBI wisked them away into the Witness Protection Plan. I remember 1 of their victims laying on his back the huge cigar still burning and he clutched the NY Daily News in his very Dead Hands. Another Gunned Down as he attempted to climbing his car but never quite made it. At least once a week for several years the NY Daily News and NY Post had pictures of the most recent Hit as their Front Page. Channels 3,5,7,9 and 11all ran stories of the days hit and murders carried out by the Mob. I’m not sure if the rest of the country was even aware of the All Out Warfare in NYC and Northern NJ at the time. Heck the News of the Vietnam War was no longer the lead story in and around NYC. So anyone who thinks that James couldn’t be involved is just uninformed about the reach of the Mafia. If they want you they will find a way to bring you in or they just get rid of you. But 1 way or another once they decide your going to listen ou then have 2 choices, continue to breathe or go live with the fishes wearing those Concrete Bootsthey were so very famous for placing on the Feet of those who decided they weren’t going to be bothered with what the Mafia wants them to do.
