I used to think open carry would discourage some asshole from trying anything, but it don’t do any good if you’re ignoring what’s going on around you and the criminal takes your own gun and uses it on you. Most holsters do have some type of strap to secure the gun. People will say that slows down your reaction time, but pulling a concealed gun is also slow. The biggest thing is if you’re going to carry, open or concealed, get training on how to use that gun and practice. A gun is NOT a decoration, it’s a self-defense weapon.
