I want to comment on why these Winter Olympics seem so unpopular or as the host said he didn’t even know the Olympics was happening. I think it is for the US at least, there are almost no black athletes in the Winter Olympics and our media is largely turned off by an all white and Asian Olympics so there is much less reporting on them. I am sure that Germany, Scandinavia nations, Italy, France and others are very excited by Winter Olympics due to the popularity of skiing, ice skating, bob sled, etc. winter sports. They are popular in the US but play second fiddle to Track and Field, running competition, even shot put is given more coverage than winter sports. I am amazed at the ski and shooting events that I have never seen on a TV Sports show in the US.
