There is ALWAYS a loophole for the party movers and shakers, making them totally immune from the “equality” that they force on the rest of the population. I’d say that most on the left are well aware of this, but each thinks that if they’re obedient leftists, they’ll get in on the ground floor and thereby avoid the very wealth restrictions they push for. If any one of these assholes believed that THEY’D have to actually live under these restrictions themselves, they’d suddenly become staunch conservatives. Or, in the case of California, rather than admit that their leftist philosophy is total bullshit, they simply pack up and move to the relative sanity of a conservative state, where they continue to push their failed agenda.
