The elite class in NYC owns major businesses, including major Wall Street financial firms, also manufacturing of all kinds, plus major restaurants, hotels, and service industries etc. They own and live in majestic properties, such as Billionaires row in Manhatten, and the Park Avenue upper East side. They are not going anywhere. And why would they? If all of them decided to leave, shut down their thriving businesses, put approx 4 million people out of work, and put their 20million plus residences for sale, according to you no one would ever buy them. Seems to me folks and businesses have already and many are considering the same thing…change primary residence to different states…PRESIDENT Trump – legal residence is FL, Hannity – FL, Catsimatidis – grocery company owner worth $4.8 Billion moving to FL, stock exchanges are opening in FL and in TX – that’s just the beginning, many companies are moving out of NYC to other states. A trickle shall turn into a river.
I can think of quite a few millionaires who moved out of NYC over the last 25 years because of outrageous cost of living and high taxes. You don’t think those rich people can’t mover their businesses to another state? Boy, are YOU stupid! Many states with offer fantastic tax incentives to attract those millionaires and their businesses. Who the hell care about all the Ney Yorkers who will be unemployed after the business moves to another state. Those people can either move with the business are stay in New Shithole York City.
All of that money doesn’t mean Jack if their employees and investors get robbed continually. They’ll either quit or move away because they don’t have billions and millions to pay for security.
