Listen, if you don’t want people telling you what you can and cannot buy, then guess what? Pay for your own MF’ING food. This should be the rules in EVERY state.

Snap is supposed to keep you fed. Not get you fat. Junk food is a privilege not a right. Get off your ass and work for your junk food.

  1. Food stamp recipients have no right to shoose whet they can buy. Beggars can’t be choosers. I’d like to see a ban on buying foreign foods, like smoked oysters, canned lobster etc and instead they should onlbe able to buy fresh chicken, fresh fish etc, no shrimp, scallops, crab and lobster. Junk food is just that, JUNK and has no nutritional value and is contributing to the obesity epidemic and futiure health problems. Since my tax dollars are paying for this, why should should they be able to buy foods I can’t afford and if so only for a special occasion? Time for a complete revamp of the food stranp SNAP program. make people work for their benefits

  2. William, let’s wait until you need to feed yourself or your family. My family had to scrap enough money to feed 4 kids and 2 adults. You sound like a total douche that has no concept of people who need these food stamps to survive. Crawl back into your hole.

    • Are you saying that you need to buy junk food to survive? You mean diabetes in a bottle sometimes called soda pop and fast foods with unhealthy sweeteners and additives are necessary for your “survival?” Are you saying when you and your family get overweight, diabetes, heart trouble, etc., you expect taxpayers to pay your foolishly caused medical bills?

    • Normally i don’t resond to snarky comments from strangers on the internet but felt the need to educate the uninformed. Lee you are sadly misinformed. When this program started, it was to ensure poor people had the resources to purchase nutritional foods to feed their families, not to purchase junk foods that have no nutritional value. Having worked in a retail grocery store I have seen just what SNAP recipients purchase: sodas, chicken nuggets, candy, potato chips, cookies and all kinds of junk foods. No wonder we have an obesity epidemic and a future healthcare nightmare ahead of us. Some buy luxury foods like shrimp, fresh mushrroms, asparagus and all kinds of imported foods like canned smoked oysters yet important things like soap, toilet paper and toothpaste are off the approved list. As far as i’m concerned restrict the list of approved ffoods to nutritionally valid foods like fresh chicken, beef fish and vegetables and eliminate junk foods.

  3. Get over myself? Who are you to say what these people eat? That’s the problem with you delutional twits. How is letting a family in need have a package of cookies or
A cake mix going to hurt anybody?
My God you people irritate me.

  4. And Lee is the DUMBASS of the day.
You must weigh in around 300-350.
Yeah try to get over yourself. If it’s possible.
And keep eating your cakes and cookies.

  5. Lee…if those in need were using the SNAP benefits JUST to buy what they need to feed themselves there would be no debate! And you ask “Who are you to say what these people eat?”. Well, we’re the ones PAYING for what those people eat! IMHO…it would be appropriate to provide food rather than a system that allows purchase of junk food, cigarettes, other non-essential items.
