Gas in CA was down to $3.99/regular again if you figure out where the cheapest stations are. That’s about as low as it gets in the past 15 years. I went to AZ Dec. 2012 and gas where I was then was @ $2.79.

Unfortunately they are lying about California fuel costs! I just gassed up at Costco in Murrieta California and filled my gasoline which was $4.50 for the 91 Octane fuel. The main reason for the high fuel cost in California is both the Democrats and the Environmentalist! The Democrats are shutting down the cracking plants in California which is causing higher fuel costs. California alone has enough Oil, Natural Gas & petroleum that the Democrats will not allow to be extracted. The Environmentalist claim it is affecting our climate changes which is nothing more than BS! The only way that America can effectively become self efficient, is by the people voting out every Democrat and RHINO out of office immediately.

While these alarming comments are fun to read, I think if you go back just a couple years, you’ll see our governor set up to investigate the “excess profits” made in California. Not a good move. Our federal government has permitted the merger of these oil companies for years without until it’s pretty much a fixed game.
Now add the near $3 or gallon in all fuel taxes, and you can arrive at why we’re screwed in CA. We fund many programs in CA that are not done in other states.

Pete D, I live in western NY. Gas is always higher here. Once upon a time, we had 2 refineries here; Ashland and Mobil. Both shut down and were dismantled. That means they’ll never come back online again.
