I read an article that says that there are at least nine Republican Senators who are likely to vote to reject his confirmation. Just because Trump wants him in, doesn’t mean that he is best person for the job. It is the place for the Senate to properly vet any senior nominee using the metric: 1. is this person qualified to fill this position, and 2. is this person going to be an independent voice for the DOJ? if the answer is no in either case, he should be rejected.
How well do you know Matt Gaetz? Your actions can make a difference. Why don’t you call, text, or message the Republican Minority Senator in the Senate and tell him why you don’t recommend Rep. Gaetz? Your input could be the key to change. Mitch McConnell will undoubtedly set you up for an appointment to voice your verifiable concerns to the Senate committee in question. You’re lucky. I wish I knew Rep Gaetz and was a friend. From what I can discern, reading and watching about him are remarkable. He’s the kind of man with his friend’s back if needed. Are you that kind of man?
