China spends less because they don’t pay their soldiers benefits, and they don’t pay for college and they don’t support wars like the US. And the US pays for the shares of their allies PLUS they love war because the private sector in the US makes billions manufacturing weapons…. China controls their defense and they don’t have private companies building their weapons.
