Imagine if a red state appointed a Russian who wasn’t a US citizen? You’d never hear the end of it lol
California has been letting non citizens hold public office for some time now. From what I’ve been able to determine, it’s only Federal offices that require citizenship. Great huh? Take an oath to uphold state or U.S. Constitutions that don’t even apply to them. What could go wrong here????
