You’re wrong about the Women’s Movement, Candace! It was a GOOD and NEEDED movement that was high jacked by the left (like most movements that started out positive)! I understand the point you’re trying to make about women having more power in the past, BUT we NEVER had the RIGHT kind of power and men refused to give it to us. The movement has come off the rails, I agree with you on that. You do seem to desperately seek male approval. I do wish you would stop blaming women – in general – for everything!
no it wasn’t. in 1954 the heads of ford and Chrysler experimental engineering department were women with doctorate degrees in engineering. Smoky Roberts grandmother had a doctorate degree and taught at a college. Those are just three of the thousands of examples from women from the 1800 and 1900’s were extremely successful both in academics and business. Yes fewer women chose to go to college or go to work based on their inherent traditional role as child raising mothers. mothers whose children did not join gangs and did learn to read, write and do math.
The feminist movement did nothing to change the option of women to go to college or work. it did make it more difficult to be a stay home child raising mother. our society is worse because it the feminist movement.
The moral values in our country have fallen off the cliff: It all started w/ Dr. Spock and his stance on disciplining ones children, if a child is reaching for a hot pan on a stove it is the parental right to slap that kids hand, too protect them; it’s an attention getter that makes a statement. When you try and discuss issues w/children, who are not yet of the age to reason, you are simply wasting your time- talking to them; as if their are adults. It serves no purpose other than setting a guideline for the child to see what and how far they can go, before they are punished w/ restrictions.
And later on in life they play out this adventure, in setting their own boundaries, ignoring the basic social graces taught at their parents lap of protection. They constantly test the boundaries in all aspects and are open to exploitation on all levels.
With girls primarily, who are in competition w/ other females, these boundaries go to the extreme; since they never learned the values from the generation of their parents. Women compete and dress, make themselves up for other women- in their world of competition.
Chaucer was the one who coined the word “Piece”, stating that every time a woman has sex w/ a man she gives away a Piece of herself; a piece of the very essence of her being. And by so doing is lesser in value in the eyes of the opposite sex. Its all about value!
The focus of the music from the 70s, the sexual revolution, was aimed directly at women, for the purpose of selling sex through music. It was all about the meat markets and hooking up for one night stands; like mutual masturbation instead of emotional and psychological attachments .Before then sexuality was cloaked in the allure of appeal.
From the 70 on we were introduced to the rap music where women were debased as bitches and values across the board all went south; fuck cops, pigs, whores, lyrics like (nibble on my dick like a rat eating cheese) and (lick my slit) were common place.
Except for Tupac, I believe his songs reflected street poetry.
And so now we have come to a point in time where all is permissible; we now lack Integrity, Self Respect, Consideration and Concern for others, Character, Class; and MOST Important- respect for our mothers who tried to teach us better social graces, IMHO.
Candace did a great job. She is not blaming women, she just showed us the crap women feel they are entitled to, and yes, men would never be allowed to do that.
