I was born and raised into a Catholic family. I went to private catholic school. I was never encouraged to read the Bible or have a relationship with Christ. Rather, I was taught to pray to and revere the Virgin Mary, the Saints, the angels, the dead. I was also told to go a priest for confession. I was taught to repeat prayers I didn't understand. I was taught that my behavior determined whether I go to heaven or not. Additionally, I was never taught to stay away from astronomy, witchcraft, superstition, etc. When I came to Christ, I found Salvation through Him alone and a relationship with him. I thank God for having freed me from Catholicism and other false religions. There is no other. You cannot follow the religious practices of Catholicism and follow Christ, they are incompatible.
