This stupid trade war with Canada may have a permanent bad effect on diplomatic relations between 🇨🇦 and 🇺🇸 which is the worst possible outcome. Friendships like this can’t be sacrificed. Trump should’ve used China as his economic scapegoat. Things made in 🇺🇸 are far better than made in China.

To hell with Canada!! They have been using outrageous tariffs on us for decades and all other Presidents allowed it! We are just taking back what they took from us! Did you know why these “wars” started? Canada bought steel from China, sold it to the US and told the US that it was made in Canada!! So, they were double dipping on the steel. Buy from China, cheap. Sell to US and we pay tariff. Double dipping. Would you consider that a GOOD friendship? If so, you are dumber than you sound!
Trump has the balls to do what previous presidents had swept under the carpet and he is iron fist with all matters. For Canada, it’s “chickens coming home to roost”. They should take it in the right light and learn their lesson (to be fair and not think they can exploit forever).

Canada is run by idiots, luckily right now we are not run by an idiot, thank God. I stopped going to Canada when Busch was in office, it was around that time when they started too really dumb down. It is a farce; economically unnecessary and politically counter-intuitive and thus, ultimately counter-productive. Let’s pray, at least where Canada is concerned, that Trump will “see the light”. The only countries that he should’ve put tariffs on were for cheap, inferior products from China and southeast Asian countries. That is how he can bring back the manufacturing of (good) things to 🇺🇸 .

Canada (Greenland & Iceland, too) have been nestled under the protective wing of Mother Hen USA for nearing a century. Neither they nor their protectorate nations lose sleep over maintaining a viable national defense. They know we will stand in the breach. Nor do they contribute to causes that keep the USA strong in this respect. They are not partners. They are recipients. The bill collector comes to everyone at some point in time. Canada was served. Additionally, what they don’t “get” is that we don’t need anything they trade. If it’s that crucial, we will deal for it elsewhere, find alternatives, or make it ourselves. We’ve been their benefactor for years.
