As a former teacher it’s because it’s in the curriculum and so that’s where forced to teach it. But teachers still have a choice. You don’t have to teach it, you can give that perspective but then also offer another. We need to teach our children to be critical thinkers not to absorb anything that a teacher says.
Makes you wonder what is taught about Russia for instance how many know that Russia actually saved the American Republic during the civil war !
