Being a Native Hawaiian born and raised here on Maui, it really hurts to see a community disappear. Growing up my whole life, we’ve been taught the mainland/U.S. is separate, and we’re so far away from everyone as if we’re the black sheep and / or last state 50th. Did government officials and local react late? Well, conspiracie theories keeps us all talking. I’m more about actions speaking louder than words. Helping be it volunteering, donating goods, driving out to Lahaina to help loved ones is the very least. Traumatic stories we all have to live with due to this castrophic event. FEMA, Military, American Red Cross, and every other group are here to assist. Media’s from all over the world have arrived and put Maui on the world to see. I just wish everyone would do the right thing, but that’s the world we live in. I love listening and watching your videos. I enjoy the content and insight you give. Maui will always be home.
