  1. I don’t see the big deal. If people want NPR and PBS to continue broadcasting they should start a Go Fund Me to raise funds. Why should taxpayers have to support a government run program?

  2. PBS was one of the best channels to teach children about places they couldn’t know about otherwise. They had wonderful segments on the history of our nation. I will say I know nothing of the other one. As a teacher, I used PBS to enhance lessons in the classroom that caught their attention and hopefully jelled the lesson. Trump is nothing more than a man after controlling a nation and he is the communist trying to have the power of Putin. Shame on everyone that let this happen.

    • Enjoyed your post Cathy. I agree, my niece is a sixth grade teacher and she uses PBS too. Our teachers should have as many educational tools they can get including from the government.

      Asian countries like China, Japan and Malaysia spend a lot on education. They understand that their children are the future of their country. This administration wants to actually close the Department of Education!

      As you can see, this site features posters whom the Department of Education failed. They are incapable of forming debates using facts.

  6. PBS had always said that the government subsidies were a minor part of their budget. They said that every time congress went after them. There’s absolutely no socialist program that could exist without a constant and increasing injection of taxpayer’s money.

      Couldn’t be more of a Hypocrite statement. PBS/NPR is mainly/totally local stations, that’s what it’s about. Being that the case who is skimming the CPB money? That should be looked at.

      Looking at it objectively even though I totally disagree with Cathy J. Trent, she is a big part of the problem we are in, PBS did have some good programming about Nature and History but like Discovery and The History Channel that used to be good they changed their formatting to be Global Warming conclusion, DEI influenced, and just propaganda programming, sadly.

    • You are correct Don. Those socialist programs include the Fire & Police departments and the military.
      I wish we could cut the socialist military budget in half. Now we have to fund the Venezuelan illegal invasion, but hey we will now have many more Venezuelan immigrants! How many of them will you help to house Don??

  7. There were many wonderful things about NPR and PBS. Wonderful and informative programs. And they could have continued that had they not become a mouthpiece for the far left. I listened to them for many years–loved the classical music you could often find on them. But there is no more reason that my tax dollars should be used to support a far left viewpoint then that they should be used to support a far right slant, like FOX news. FOX news seems to e able to exist without taxpayer dollars, so maybe a far left network can.

  9. They do fund drives every year saying they NEED more money.
    Well and they do commercials ,so they DON’T need MY money taken in taxes. IF the LEFT wants them then let them support them.
    Back in the late 60’s and early 70’s I used to send donations,but then the LEFT took them completely over and no more unbiased shows. So I quit donations and quit listening to them
